Construction
Electrical Equipment
    Siemens electrics, 230 3ph, 60Hz
    The electrical enclosure is sealed and the disconnect switch has a door interlock 

    Low 24 volt controls are used for added safety 

    All terminal blocks are shielded for added protection 

    Fused power supply and all motors have overload protection

Headstock and Spindle
    Solid box-construction casting provides the rigidity for heavy cuts
    All gears and spline shafts are tooled from high-quality steel, harden and ground and lubricated by an auto lube system 

    3 spindlespeed ranges are automatically changed by M code 

    Infinitely variable speeds are commanded by S code 

    The spindle is supported by precision taper roller bearings

Carriage and apron
    Constructed of heavy-duty ribbed Meehanite casting for maximum rigidity
    The cross slideways are hardened and ground 

    The saddle slideways are covered with Turcite B to reduce friction 

    Automatic lubrication system for slideways and ball screws 

    Precision class 3 ball screws are equipped in X and Z axes 

    Servo motors and ball screws in X and Z axes are connected directly by couplings to increase torques and minimize backlash 

    Ball screws are protected by stainless steel shields to prevent rusting from coolants and damage from chips

Bed
    Extra wide, one-piece bed from bedways to floor, is constructed of Meehanite casting for maximum rigidity
    The prestressed bedways are induction heat-treated and ground for ware resistance 

    Bed has three “V” slideways designed to ensure stability under all cutting conditions 

    Up to 280" long in a one-piece casting

Tailstock
    Built-in rotary quill is heat-treated, hardened and ground and runs on precision bearings
    The rotary quill uses a #6MT dead center instead of a live center 

    Tailstock quill driven by 2-speed feed
